Laminate flooring comes in many different colours and fits together easily. There are many different finishings which you can have like a shiny glazed finish or a matte finish. Laminate can look like wood or can look more modern and can easily fit in with it's surroundings without looking out of place.

Laminate flooring is easy to repair if something does happen to the flooring. Simply replace it with another slat. Even though damage can occur laminate flooring is usually hard wearing and can withstand the daily use like a carpet would.

When starting to lay your laminate flooring make sure have unpacked it correctly and stacked it up so its easier to start to lay your flooring. Make sure you have removed any packaging so you do not have to contend with this while laying the flooring.

Before laying the flooring make sure that the sub-layer is free of any debris and it is free from any dirt. If you are laying the laminate onto a newly concreted floor make sure that it has had sufficient time to dry.

You must now lay down the vapor floor barrier, Some manufacturers say that you have to overlay the vapor but always read the manufacturers instructions.

Make sure that when you have laid the flooring your doors will glide over the flooring still. You may need to cut the bottom of the door to give it a good finish and not to damage the flooring.

Try laying the laminate parallel to the wall in a row so you have something to go on when slotting the pieces together. 

The way in which you piece them together is by knocking them lighting into place.

The final piece of the laminate flooring will have to be cut to fit as there will not be enough room for it to fit into the other joining pieces.
